I think only time will tell. I dont think government regulation has been effective in battling the problem. I also am starting to wonder if there is a problem. With Mars temperature rates rising parallel to ours, we may just be having a warm cycle. In the 70s global cooling was a problem and governments wanted to dam the Bering Strait. I know that sort of going off on a different track but I think its worth mentioning

    I hate to be flippant but really the biggest downside is that it’s a pipe dream. Too many of the politicians on the global warming bandwagon are cynically using it to increase their power, rather than actually believing in it. That means any proposed solution which doesn’t move towards more centralized power and less free choice will be blocked.
