when greed triumphs human needs? Why do we not produce for people who are not valued because they have no purchasing power? Why do we market all these UNNECESSARY crap by manipulating demand for those in developed countries, while there are people who are starving elsewhere? Why cannot we instead think of a new system where we produce stuff to fulfil a human need? If money was not the driving force in the economy, we could create sustainable solutions that would otherwise not be profitable because the goal was previously about maximizing profit which is in direct opposition to providing long term solutions and products to people who need them the most. It is not that this monetary system efficiently allocates resources, as we'd have ended world poverty by now considering we have the ability to do so. Nobody needs all this new sh*t; things we're told to want because our lives in a consumerist culture are so meaningless.
All goods and services would be equally avaliable to all people. People take what they need, and work to their ability.

People are so much healthier when they learn how to him themselves but our country is set up so that we have McDonald's making people sick they go to the Dr. get meds. get other problems from the meds & end up in hospital it just goes around in circles. This is why the reps. call libs. tree huggers cause libs love nature & would give up a job knowing there are plenty more when you do the right thing.

Because, the government cannot be in charge of anything very well, even necessities. There was mass starvation in USSR when they switched to communism, because the regulations decreased output.
If something isn't worth what it is payed for, then their is a deficit created, and deficits eventually have to be called in. That causes the fall of said system.
My friend once said that if all the money spent on Ice cream was donated to end world hunger, their wouldn't be a problem, but he forgot all those put out of work because no one was buying ice cream.

So, when a company has decreased output, those that had worked best will have to work harder, and those that are in worse of situations will get paid more, whether or not those two correlate. You would make need = deserve. People then work hard to need things rather than deserve them, and those that work better will only get worked harder, so why would they work… For the betterment of mankind? Yeah right.
